Betty Ann has danced hula all her life. Shewas first taught the hula by her mother
and later by the renowned Ida Namanu'okawa'a Wong, aka "Auntie Ida" in northern California.

Although Betty Ann was born in the Islands, she grew up in
California and has always honored her Hawaiian ancestry through the hula. She
detoured from dancing while she pursued a long career as a KTVU news reporter and producer and
raised three sons, but now, retired here in Sonoma with her husband, Craig
Scheiner, Betty Ann enjoys being able to share her love and knowledge of
Hawaiian dancing with others.
